Dr. Rached Maurice Rached is an Associate Scientist at Sinopec Tech Middle East, the R&D branch of Sinopec located in Saudi Arabia.

He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Balamand in 2013, Lebanon, and his M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Balamand, Lebanon in 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. in Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), KSA in 2020.

Dr. Rached’s research focuses on a fundamental understanding of geo-materials and coupled hydro-chemo-mechanical processes through custom experimental studies, analytical methods, and advanced numerical techniques with applications for the energy and environmental sectors.

His recent research focuses on the development of 1) advanced experimental techniques for the mechanical characterization of rocks, 2) finite-element-based applications for drilling applications, and 3) workflows and algorithms for the analysis of large datasets for downhole drilling vibration data.
