Status and Prospect of Drilling Simulation Technique at Home and Abroad

  • Providing strong decision support in terms of reducing drilling cost,mitigating operation risk and improving drilling speed,drilling simulation technique is still the focus for overseas researches.Mastering the status and development trend of the technique at home and abroad is the important basis for carrying out studies on drilling simulation technique.From the perspectives of drilling engineering training simulation,drilling process simulation and drilling technical economic evaluation simulation,this paper described the status of domestic and overseas researches on the technique,and analyzed the functions and characteristics of the representative domestic and overseas drilling simulation systems.It also analyzed the main gaps between domostic and overseas advanced technologies from the three aspects of researches on drilling simulation model,drilling training simulator development and drilling simulation system RD.in addition,the paper proposed the drilling simulation system based on virtual reality technology would be the leading direction for further research and application of drilling simulation technology.Finally,the paper specified that domestic researches on the technique would focus on such aspects as the researches and verification of engineering geological simulation model,pre-drilling simulation optimization,real-time simulation and predication during the drilling as well as training simulator development based on drilling wells.
