The quantitative optimization method for multi-dimensional deep-water shallow well construction

  • Due to the characteristics of the changing marine environment, complex geological conditions, high operation risk, and high daily rate of deepwater drilling operations, it is difficult to choose the way of deepwater and shallow well construction. According to the characteristics of seabed soil, well construction quality, operation time, economy, drilling safety risk control, and other factors, the adaptability of different well construction techniques was analyzed, and a single-dimensional adaptability classification mechanism was established. Quantitative visual evaluation. The results show that in the South China Sea with a water depth of 500−1500 meters, when the number of development wells is less than or equal to 10 wells, the injection method is the optimal method for shallow well construction, and the operation efficiency can be improved by more than 50% compared with the drilling method. This method has achieved good application results in dozens of deepwater wells in the South China Sea, providing a quantitative evaluation method for the selection of well construction methods in deepwater complex strata.
